Data Space

A Data Space is a framework that supports data sharing within a data ecosystem. It is a decentralised infrastructure for trustworthy data sharing and exchange in data ecosystems, based on commonly agreed principles. Key characteristic of a Data Space is a secure and privacy preserving IT infrastructure to pool, access, process, use and share data.

Data Collaborative

Data collaboratives are a new form of collaboration that go beyond the public-private partnership model. Participants from different industries - especially companies - share their data to create shared as well as public value.

Commons and the 8 design principles

In the course of many years of research, Elinor Ostrom developed 8 design principles for the organization of successful commons. These principles have been further developed over time and adapted to current circumstances, but remain in essence groundbreaking as reference guidelines.

Gaia-X is a pan-European project with the goal of creating an open, transparent and secure federated digital ecosystem where data and services are subject to common rules and can be securely built, compiled and shared. The aim is to ensure that fundamental principles as well as European values are respected and thus shape the future of Europe.
